Katherine Elizabeth (Moses) Finnell, 95, passed away peacefully at her home with her daughter, Janet, by her side on January 26, 2024.
Born in Louisville, she attended Central High School, worked in the Louisville Health Department, and retired from the US Postal Service.
Faithful and active in her churches (Westwood Presbyterian, Anchorage Presbyterian and St. Luke's Episcopal), Katherine was quiet, reserved and loving. Always stylish and elegant, she created beauty in her world, wearing signature white blouses and jewelry, and decorating her home and flower garden.
Katherine was preceded in death by her parents Emma Schaefer and Fred Moses, her brothers Buford Ray and George Moses, beloved husband William Finnell, Sr. and son William "Ronnie" Finnell, Jr. She is survived by her loving daughter and caregiver, Janet Willis Harvey, grandsons David Harvey and Jared Finnell, and granddaughter Ashley Finnell.
When the cherry blossoms bloom in May, a family memorial service will be held at Cave Hill's Scattering Garden.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Luke's Episcopal Church in Anchorage.
