Katherine "Kathy" (Long) Bothwell

Katherine "Kathy" (Long) Bothwell, 96, passed away peacefully on December 13, 2023 at Silvercrest in New Albany, Indiana. She was born in Highland Park, Michigan on November 15, 1927. Kathy moved to Louisville, Kentucky in 1957, where she raised her family and resided until moving to New Albany in 2014.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 61 years William "Bill" Bothwell; son, Dr. Mark Bothwell; parents, John and May (Orchard) Long; sisters, Barbara Trahey, Margery Butler, Phyllis Vecore; and brother, John Long.
Kathy was a secretary and office manager for the United Metal Products Corporation in Michigan and a volunteer and tutor for the Dyslexic Association of Kentucky. She was a loving and caring mother and grandmother, enjoyed camping and traveling with family, and was an avid bicyclist as a previous member of the former Louisville Wheelman and Southern Indiana Wheelman cycling club. Kathy was a long time member of St Paul's Episcopal Church on Lowe Road in Louisville.
Survivors left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Jan Campbell (Bernie) of New Albany, Indiana; son, Warren Bothwell (Sue) of Grand Rapids, Michigan; daughter-in-law, Carol Bothwell of Owensboro, Kentucky; grandson, Drew Campbell (Joey) of Tucson, Arizona; granddaughter, Holly Passafiume (Brian) of Raleigh, North Carolina; and great-grandchildren, Ella Madru Campbell, Carson Madru Campbell, Parker Madru Campbell, Ruby Katherine Passafiume; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Kathy's wish was to be cremated with a private celebration of her life taking place at a later date in Michigan. She will be laid to rest at Parkview Memorial Cemetery in Livonia, Michigan. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to the charity of your choice.
