Karen Louise Tharpe (Strong)

Karen Louise Tharpe (Strong) passed away peacefully surrounded by countless loved ones on Saturday January 18, 2014 at the age of 55.

She leaves this earth to join her grandparents, Floyd and Hassie Spencer, her father James Strong and her only son Matt Morrisey. In addition to Matt, Karen gave life to two daughters while married to Stewart Morrisey; Jessica Morrisey Pinnick (Vincent) and Angela Morrisey. She later married Dennis Tharpe and was blessed with yet another daughter, Victoria (Tori) Tharpe. Karen was the youngest daughter and constant companion to her mother Wanda Strong. Dalton Roberts, Wesley Workman and Elijah Morrisey will surely miss their sweet grandma Karen; as will her sisters and brothers Sheree Cerny, Pamela Edrington (Mike), Jackie Riggs (Terry) , Tommy Strong, David Strong (Pam) and Jamie Strong. To carry on her memory Karen leaves behind too many to possibly list.

Karen was a beautiful person inside and out. Tolerant and open-minded, she was a whirlwind of energy and selfless giving to the sick and needy. She leaves a deep void in the lives of the people she cared for. Karen's life was too short but her legacy will be infinite.

Visitation for Karen will be Thursday, January 23rd, from 2pm-7pm with services beginning at 7pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, Southwest Louisville Chapel, 10304 Dixie Highway.
