Karen Sue (Carwile) Hardsaw, 64, of Louisville, Kentucky, returned home to Our Lord on Friday, December 29th, 2023.
Karen was born on May 16, 1959 in Louisville, Kentucky to Betty (Ray) Carwile. During her childhood she spent much of her time with her siblings rambunctiously exploring life while creating bonds that lasted a lifetime. She also spoke often of time spent with her mother and grandparents that created memories that always brought her joy to retell. At the age of 8 she made The Lord a promise she never forgot and at the age of 23, Karen devoted her life to The Lord, which began her relationship with Jesus Christ, her Lord and Savior. As a 1977 graduate of Valley High School, She was and would always be a proud Viking. She then went on to Nursing School to earn her CNA certification. Which eventually led her to The Brook Hospital where she worked closely with peers as a Nursing Assistant and Switchboard Director, caring, helping and loving others for over 30 years. Whether she was at her local church or out in the community she was always teaching, praying for others and sharing The Gospel. Her love and compassion overflowed, as such she always had room in her heart and home for animals in need.
Karen met the love of her life and soulmate, Dudley Lyle Hardsaw in 1989. February 1990 they were married and together for 22 years before the Lord called him home, July 2012. They had 3 beautiful children, who Karen lovingly proclaimed as her "Blessings from heaven above". June 2019 she became a Grandma, which brought her so much joy and filled her already full heart with more love. She would tell anyone that would listen about her grandbabies, her and her family's precious gifts from God.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Betty Gray; and husband, Dudley Hardsaw.
Karen is survived by her loving family, Daughters, Jessica (Paul) Colt, Sarah Hardsaw; son, Daniel (Shanee) Hardsaw; brother, Donnie Carwile; sister, Linda Greenwell; nephew, Scott Greenwell; niece, Cathy Greenwell; grandchildren, Anastasia Colt, Amelia Colt, Asher Colt; as well as a host of extended family and friends to cherish her loving memory forever.
Karen was a thoughtful and loving Mother, a devoted and nurturing Grandmother, a protective and positively intentional Sister, a compassionate and loyal Friend, and a faithful Child of God. Her sweet soul, warm presence, and her endless fountain of love and light are only a few reasons why she will be missed and remembered by so many.
