Karen Lou Cruz

Karen Cruz, 67, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Saturday, July 23, 2022. Karen was one of a kind. She was a goofball and always made things interesting. Everyone knew the moment Karen entered the room. She never met a stranger and loved talking with everyone she met. Karen was a music lover and could play any instrument. She was a free spirit and despite so many struggles, she always saw the glass as half full and always had a positive outlook on life. Karen was a strong woman and a hard fighter. She will be deeply missed by all who had the honor of knowing her.

She was born on January 10, 1955 in Louisville, Kentucky to Charles and Verla (Albright) Casey. She is preceded in death by her father, Charles Casey; and her mother, Verla Casey.

Karen is survived by her loving family, son, Sean (Judith Heredia) Lucas; son, Jeremy (Jessica) Turner; son, Jason Turner; brother, Danny (Barbara) Casey; grandchildren; Tyler Turner, Gavin Northington, Alexa Heredia Lucas, Leah Lucas, and Ethan Lucas; as well as a host of extended family and friends to cherish her loving memory forever.

Visitation will be on Saturday, July 30, 2022 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel, 10304 Dixie Highway. A Celebration of Karen's life will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.
