June Mcgaffee

June Rogers McGaffee passed peacefully into the arms of her Heavenly Father on April 28, 2012 at Norton Suburban hospital in Louisville, Kentucky.
She was born in Knoxville, Tennessee on July 27, 1920 to John W. and Eliza Rogers. She was preceded in death by her husband, The love of her life for almost fifty years, Daniel G. McGaffee, and by her parents, and infant son, a sister Lucy Simmons, and a brother, John W. Rogers Jr. The honor of caregiving was returned to her over the past 5 years by her closest survivors, her only child, Joy McGaffee, and her grandchildren, John and Kathleen Taylor. She is also survived by a sister, Kathleen DeFord, and brother, Gaitha V. Rogers Sr., both of Knoxville, TN, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She retired from a wonderful career in accounting at US Atomic Energy Commission in Oak Ridge, TN.
A memorial service is planned for Saturday, May 12, 2012 at 11:00 AM in the Fireside Room at Southeast Christian Church, with visitation and brunch to follow at her home. An additional memorial service is planned for Saturday, May 19, 2012 at 11:00 AM at Inskip Baptist Church in Knoxville, TN with visitation and brunch to follow at the church.
In lieu of flowers, she requested any memorials gifts be to Southeast Christian Church or to the charity of one's choice.
