Julius Perry Roemer, age 86 passed away at home on Friday August 4,2023. He was born December 15, 1936, in Louisville, Kentucky to the late Christian Julius and Mary Eliza Brenner Roemer. He was a lifelong member of Immanuel United Church of Christ. Immediately after graduating from Fern Creek high school in 1955, Julius began working for Girdler Chemical and after several acquisitions and name changes Julius retired as a production supervisor from Sud-Cheme (now Clariant Corporation) in 1998. He and his wife Lois traveled to all fifty states and several European countries. His passion was collecting antique tractors, especially John Deere. Julius was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Christian B. and Rev. John J Roemer and his sister, Mary Ann Reas.
Julius is survived by his wife of 47 years, Lois Jones Roemer; son, Michael Roemer; daughter, Susan Felix; and stepdaughter, Laura Dixon; grandsons, Julius Michael and Wade Roemer, Perry (Rachel), Shelby (Michelle), Raleigh (Mikaela) Dixon, Cameron and Colin Taylor; and great grandson, Theodore Dixon; great granddaughter, Grace Dixon; and a special nephew, Stephen Reas. He has many other nieces, nephews, and friends.
Visitation will be 10:00 am to 1:00pm on Saturday, September 30, 2023 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, 235 Juneau Drive, Louisville, Kentucky, with a celebration of Julius's life there at 1pm.
