Julie Wise Zoeller

August 8, 1942 — August 26, 2023

Julie Wise Zoeller, 81, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on Saturday, August 26, 2023. She was a lifelong Catholic. She was strong, faith-filled, and always put others' needs before her own. She was so many things to so many people, always giving.

She worked for Joe Guy Hagan Realtors, the Cathedral of the Assumption, Our Mother of Sorrows Catholic Church, and New Directions Housing Corporation. She greatly enjoyed her family and friends foremost, but you could often find her working a crossword or jigsaw puzzle or playing bridge with friends. She loved looking at flowers and plants in her yard, especially her crepe myrtles.

She was born on August 8, 1942, in Louisville, Kentucky, to the late Joseph E. Wise, Sr. and Julia (Crain) Wise. In addition to her parents, Julie was preceded in death by her sister-in-law Linda Wise.

Julie is survived by her son, David (Anne) Zoeller, son Greg Zoeller; grandchildren, Lorien and Erin Zoeller, Cassie and Ben Gutman; siblings, Janice Walts, Joseph (Maleita) Wise, Jr., Thomas Wise, Dennis Wise, and Karen (Steve) Gutman; and many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by so many lifelong best friends.

A Celebration of Life will be from 2:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Friday, September 8, 2023, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany, IN). It was Julie's wish to donate her body for medical research, and the University of Louisville Willed Body Program made this possible. Please join with family and friends on this day to share a story, a laugh, and yes, probably a tear or two.

In lieu of flowers, per Julie's wishes, please consider a donation to the program so very near and dear to her: Better Life Boxing (1107 Dogwood Rd, Jeffersonville, IN 47130), which was created for Parkinson's Disease warriors to fight Parkinson's Disease one Round at a Time. Make donations payable to FMMAA, Inc.

The family wishes to thank the staff at Baptist Floyd and Hosparus for their great care. And our most sincere thanks to the nursing staff at Guerin Woods for the excellent care, love, and respect you gave to Julie.

Please consider sharing a memory of Julie or leaving a special message for her family by completing the "Share Memories" section below.
