Julia "Judy" Ann Pryor, 77, of Atlanta, Georgia, passed away on Friday, March 24, 2023. Judy was loving, kind, and full of life. She easily made friends with everyone and loved to laugh as well as make others laugh. Judy was an avid animal lover and enjoyed caring for them. She is a former member of the American Legion in Plainfield, Indiana. Judy enjoyed spending time cooking and baking; she was known for her wonderful rum cakes, chocolate sheet cakes, and bourbon balls. Most importantly, she loved being a Mamaw to her grandchild and great-grandchild. Judy will be deeply missed by all who had the honor of knowing her.
She was born on June 1, 1945 in Indianapolis, Indiana to William Hugh and Mary Mildred (White) Steele. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her sisters, Linda Steele, Nancy Parrish, Carol Mathina; nephew, Jimmy Parrish; and niece, Laurie King.
Judy is survived by her loving family, daughter, Julie (Donald) Latham; son, James W. Pryor; sister, Joyce (Larry) Foster; grandson, James C. Pryor; great-granddaughter, Avery Pryor; nieces and nephews, Theresa (Tony) Wallace, Mary (Tommy) Boyd, Bill Parrish, Nancy June, Ronald Parrish; great-nieces and nephews, Shelly Robbins, Kelly (Jerry) Firestone, Bill Wallace; as well as a host of extended family and friends to cherish her loving memory forever.
Visitation will be on Thursday, March 30, 2023 from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00p.m. at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel, 10304 Dixie Highway. Her Funeral Service will be on Thursday at 5:00 p.m.at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions -Southwest Louisville Chapel. Burial will follow on Saturday, April 1, 2023 at Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin, Indiana.
