Judy Meneely

Judith Ann Meneely was born April 4, 1940 in Athens, OH to Paul and Ernestine Childers. She passed into the arms of Jesus on December 26, 2024 in Louisville, KY at the age of 84. Judy’s life was testimony of a life lived for Jesus. She shared her life with family, friends, church family, and students of all ages.

Judy was a strong ambassador of Christian education in the church, especially with children. Judy began her desire to teach as a curriculum writer for Standard Publishing. She spent over 20 years working in children’s ministry in different churches. She trained volunteers in many churches helping to develop their ministry programs. Later Judy was called to help in various capacities at two Bible colleges. At Cincinnati Bible College, she served in Alumni Services and then Student Services as the Dean of Women. Judy was the Executive Assistant to the President and helped with the accreditation process at Louisville Bible College. Judy was also instrumental in the establishment of the Christian Academy of Louisville (CAL) by serving on the Board of Directors in the early years and later as school administrator at Southwest Campus of CAL. 

Judy’s passion to teach children about Jesus was surpassed only by her desire to learn more about Jesus and the Bible. She was a consistent example of the constant desire to be a disciple of Jesus. We pray that her desire to teach the next generation about Jesus will inspire those who knew her to pass on the message of Him to others.

Judy is survived by her three sons - Scott (Jill) Meneely, Alan (Beth) Meneely, and Andy (Emily) Meneely; 5 Grandchildren; 6 Great-grandchildren; and many others who love her dearly.

In lieu of flowers, we ask that you donate to Remember the Children, a mission committed to sharing Jesus with children in Romania and Tanzania in Judy’s memory.

A celebration of life service will be held at Hikes Point Christian Church on Tuesday, January 7, 2025 from 3-5pm with a memorial moment at 4:30pm.
