Judy Ingram

Judy Caroll Ingram, 79, of Huntersville, North Carolina, peacefully passed away on Monday, December 16, 2024, after a long and courageous battle with heart and lung disease.

Born on December 22, 1944, in Louisville, Kentucky, she was the daughter of William and Beulah Sublett (Hudgins). 

Judy was preceded in death by her parents, William and Beulah Sublett; her sister, Martha Faye Sublett; her nephew, Timothy Welch; and her former husband, Bill Ingram.

She is survived by her devoted family: Daughter, Vonda Dorsey, and her husband, Paul Dorsey; Grandchildren, Cameron and Payton Dorsey; Sisters, Betty Hutchins (Jim), Nancy Ford, and Dory Gabhart (Mike); Nephews, Todd Harwood and Jody Hickerson (Laura); as well as numerous extended family members and friends who loved her dearly.

Judy was a proud graduate of Valley High School, class of 1963, and a member of Hillsdale Baptist Church in Louisville, KY. Throughout her professional career, she served many years as an Executive Secretary at Celanese Coatings & Specialties Co., The Kentucky State Fair Board, St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, and the Kentucky Commission for Children with Special Health Care Needs. 

The family expresses heartfelt gratitude to Judy’s hospice team—Joyce, Gabrielle, Destiny, and Brian—for their exceptional care and support during her final days.

In honor of what would have been Judy’s 80th birthday, a visitation will be held from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm on Sunday, December 22, 2024, at Newcomer Funeral Home - Southwest Louisville Chapel (10304 Dixie Hwy). A funeral service will follow at 4:00 pm on Sunday, with burial to take place at Bethany Memorial Cemetery in Louisville, Kentucky, on Monday, December 23, 2024, at 11:00 am.
