Judith Marie Mitchell

Judith Marie "Judy" Mitchell, 74, passed away on June 27, 2022 She was a member of AVVA, Post 454 and was involved with many veteran causes and associations. Judith was an avid animal lover and never let a stray go hungry. She loved to read, garden, dance and had a pep in her step. Judith always put others before herself to a fault and had a heart of gold. She will be truly missed and will forever live in our hearts.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John R. Mitchell, Sr; parents, Floyd and Mary Thornsberry; son, Ricky Houchens; granddaughter, Tracey Brock and sister, Margie Nichols.

Judith leaves to cherish her memories, her children, Karen (Ron) Brock, Sharon ( Terry) Houtchens, Billy Mitchell, John R. Mitchell, Jr and Malissa Baize and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be Wednesday, July 6, 2022, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, Southwest Louisville Chapel, 10304 Dixie Highway, Louisville, KY from 4pm-8pm. A celebration of Judith's life will be Thursday, July 7, 2022, beginning at 11am.

Judith will be laid to rest Monday, July 18, 2022, at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery - Central, 2501 N. Dixie Blvd, Radcliff, KY.
