Judith Elaine Jones

Judith E. Jones, 78, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, December 10, 2023. Judee worked in administrative assistance for the Florida Department of Correction and Blue River Services for many years. She enjoyed sewing, making jewelry, and using her creativity when scrapbooking. Above all else, Judee loved spending time with her grandkids and great-grandkids.

She was born on June 24, 1945 in Long Beach, California to the late Chester Saunders and Helen Venus Franz. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Jones; and son, Michael Jones.

Judee is survived by her daughter, Jill (Tom) Dirbas; son, Mark Jones; siblings, Mary Lou Highley, Phil (Geri) Saunders, Carol Rayzor, Michaeleen Saunders, Diane Saunders, and Bill (Pam) Franz; grandchildren, Laken (Cody) Bracken and Levi Pearson; and great-granddaughters, Sarah, Emily, and Melody.

Visitation will be from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Friday, December 15, 2023 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). Her Memorial Service will be at 1:00 pm on Friday, at the funeral home. Cremation was chosen following Judee's wishes.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude for the wonderful care Judee received by the staff at Hellenic Senior Living and special compliments to Nurse Lauren and Nurse Juda for all they have done.
