Judith Ann Herink

Judith Ann Herink, 75, of Borden, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, October 22, 2023. She was born on August 21, 1948 in New Albany, Indiana to the late Frances "Tex" Goss and Clarice Jacobi Goss. She grew up on the family farm in Greenville, Indiana. She graduated from New Albany High School in 1966 and shortly after, moved to New Albany to begin her career at Bruce Fox Inc. where she retired after 38 years. On January 9, 2004, Judy would meet the love of her life, Ron Herink. She spent the next 19 years in Borden with Ron tending her hummingbirds, working in her gardens, planting flowers, and traveling, but her favorite times were spent with family, playing Euchre, watching the grandkids grow up, playing pranks and jokes, and family get-togethers. She also enjoyed this area's local history, its beautiful fall seasons, persimmons, blackberries, mushroom hunting, but even more: she loved sharing and eating those delicious treats she would make. She was affectionately referred to as "Mother Nature" by those who knew her well. Judy loved the simple little moments in life the most.

Judy is survived by her husband, Ron Herink; son, Scott (Karen) Appleby; step-children, Leia (Jason) Knapp and Adam (Logan) Herink; brothers, Frank Goss and Jim (Sherry) Goss; 4 grandchildren who were the joy of her life, Alyssa Andreno, Addison Appleby, Autumn Appleby and Keira Knapp; and was a beloved aunt and friend.

Cremation was chosen following Judy's wishes and a private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. She will be laid to rest at Greenville (Greenlawn) Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations in Judy's memory be made to SouthernCare Hospice Services (3602 Northgate Ct. #27, New Albany, IN 47150).
