Judith Anne Whitman Boman passed way on June 22, 2024. Judy was born on November 16, 1944, when her father, Edgar J. Whitman, a WWII radioman aboard a U.S. Navy transport ship in the Pacific, personally transcribed the telegram announcement of his daughter's birth sent to him by his wife, Helen Louise Whitman. Both parents have preceded Judy in death.
Judy was married to Wayne Boman (deceased) and is survived by her son Michael Wayne Boman (wife, Chac') of New Albany and her daughter, Tracy Anne Boman of Sellersburg, Indiana, as well as grandchildren, Breanna, Jessica, Julia and Deysi and great-grandchildren, Katrina and McKenna. Judy is also survived by her brother, Mark Whitman (wife, Mary Beth), of West Lafayette, Indiana.
Judy was a life-long resident of New Albany, graduating from New Albany High School in 1962. She was a licensed practical nurse and served in this capacity at Baptist Floyd Hospital. She also served as a supervisor for St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
Quietly stubborn by nature, Judy had a wry sense of humor and enjoyed viewing the world from a slightly different angle than most people. A dedicated fanatic of Elvis, Judy had an excellent singing voice of her own and loved listening to popular and country music.
As wished by Judy, family will be gathering privately to celebrate her life, and there will be no public ceremony. She will be sadly missed by all who have known and loved her.
