Juanita Tabor Utley, 88, passed into the hands of our Heavenly Father on Thursday, September 18, 2014. She was born on July 17, 1926 to the late Charles and Nelle (Castleman) Tabor. She retired as a skilled registered nurse from the Community Methodist Hospital in Henderson, Kentucky. She was a member of Immanuel Baptist Temple while residing in Henderson. She was a loving mother, aunt, daughter, grandmother, and a devoted sister and friend. She loved to travel and has been to all fifty states.
Juanita graduated from the RN program at Baptist Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee and loved to learn. She loved all kinds of music especially country. Along with her parents she is preceded in death by two of her brothers; Charles D. Tabor, Jr., and H. Samuel Tabor.
She is survived by her three children; Cathy Utley Costelle (Ken), Janis Utley Graham and Jeffrey Scott Utley, two grandchildren; Leah Costelle McMillen (Matt), Jason M. Costelle, and one great-grandson; Gavin McMillen. She is also survived by her brothers; William H. Tabor, Rev. Paul Tabor (Nancy) and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or Foundation.
A celebration of Juanita's life will be held in Cookeville, Tennessee on September 25, 2014 at 10:00 am.
