Joyce D. Ray

Joyce D. Ray, 97, of Georgetown, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, March 3, 2024.

She was born on October 4, 1926 in Powderly, Kentucky to the late Clint Pentecost and Jane (Phillips) Redman. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, James D. Ray Sr., and her sister, Dorothy Roberts.

Joyce is survived by her loving children, James Ray, Jr. and Teresa Ray, grandchildren, Alanna Jordan and Christina Allemang, great grandchildren, Autumn Price, Roxxan Price, Arabella Smith and Donald Smith, Jr., along with her sisters, Helen Miller and Beverly Shanks and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins that will miss her very much.

Joyce worked for the Jefferson County Public School system as a Foster Grandparent for many years and was a long time member of Louisville First SDA Church.

Visitation will be from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Tuesday, March 12th at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel, (10304 Dixie Hwy). Her Funeral Service will be at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, at the funeral home with burial to follow at Pennsylvania Run Cemetery.
