Joyce Ann Kessinger, born on March 23, 1955, in New Albany, Indiana, departed this life on August 19, 2024, at Baptist Health Floyd. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, heart and compassion touched many lives.

Joyce was a dedicated Certified Nursing Assistant throughout much of her life, embodying a career that exemplified her lifelong commitment to helping those in need. Her nurturing personality and unwavering spirit made a profound difference in the lives she touched while providing care to others.

She graduated from Floyd Central High School, a milestone that marked the beginning of a journey filled with steadfast dedication to both her profession and her family. Joyce’s passions extended beyond her work; she found joy in reading, crafting, and reminiscing through old television shows. She cherished her visits to the Casino and had a deep love for animals. However, above all, it was her family who brought her the greatest joy.

Joyce is survived by her daughter, Allison Mason, and four adoring grandchildren: Dakota Kessinger, Alexander Robertson, Brandon Mason, and Chase Mason. She also leaves behind her cherished great-grandchildren, James, Hadlee, and Patrick. Joyce is remembered fondly by her siblings: Donna (Sammy) Oskin, Bobby (Kathy) Bezy, and Angela (Mark) Crain, each of whom will carry her spirit and memory with them.

Her legacy is also marked by the love and warmth she shared with those around her, and she will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Joyce was preceded in death by her father, Paul Bezy; her mother, Anna Bezy; her daughter, Tina Kerberg; and her brother, Stephen Bezy. Their memories live on in the hearts of her family and friends, whose lives were enriched by her kind and generous spirit.

Joyce Ann Kessinger will be remembered not only for her dedication to caregiving but also for her loving nature, vibrant interests, and the special moments she created with those she loved. She leaves behind a legacy of compassion, kindness, and an enduring bond that will be cherished forever.

It was Joyce's wishes to be cremated with a memorial service at a later date.

The family requests that contributions in Joyce’s memory be made to American Cancer Society.
