Joyce Ann(Stump) Newton

Joyce Ann (Stump) Newton, 72, of New Albany, Indiana was called home on January 29, 2014. She was a long-time employee of Lightning Food Mart. She loved her job, the wonderful customers she served, and her employer, Tammy Wolford.

Joyce was born on June 22, 1941 in Depauw, Indiana to the late Jerry and Cecilia (Smith) Stump. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Larry Newton; daughter, Cindy Newton; and brothers, Allen and Buddy Stump.

She is survived by her children, Lori Mehnert (Rob), Joe Newton (Debra), Chris Newton (Dina); sister, Marie Adkins; and grandchildren, Amber, Ryan, Alisha, Kyle, Jennifer, Morgan, and Dylan.

Visitation will be 1 to 6 PM on Sunday, February 2, 2014 at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). A Graveside Service and burial will take place at 11 AM on Monday at St. Bernard's Catholic Cemetery (7600 HWY 337 NW, Depauw, IN 47115).
