Shelton, Jospeh P. "Phil", born May 12, 1921, died Wednesday, February 9, 2011.
He was a member of the Middletown Congregaton of Johovah's Witnesses.
Phil was a contemplative, reverent, and diligent student of God's word, the Bible, always ready to share "This Good News of the Kingdom" with others. Alzheimer's disease began to rob Phil of his memory and cognitive abilities in his mid-sixties. He underwent a long deterioration in mental capacity - heartbreaking for his family and possibly hard for others to recognize. Phil was a modest man; he worshipped the Creater, Johovah God, and humbly endeavored to follow God's son Jesus Christ.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, June; four sons; three daughters; three daughters-in-law; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 9910 Whipps Mill Road, Louisville, on Saturday, February 26, 2011 at 2 p.m.
