Joseph Schmitt

Joseph Herman Schmitt, 77, passed away on Monday, February 24, 2014. Joe was born April 12, 1936. He was a lifetime resident of Shively and of Louisville, KY; he loved Shivley. He went to Saint Helen's grade school and then to St. Xavier High School. After graduating from St. Xavier he attended University of Kentucky College of Pharmacy and graduated in 1959. After graduating from pharmacy school he served 6 years in the KY Air Guard. Joe practiced pharmacy for the next 45 years in Kentucky and Indiana and retired from Walgreens after 28 years. He continued to practice pharmacy part-time until his death. Joe was a member of the Jefferson County Academy of Pharmacy Association and a member of the University of Kentucky Alumni Association. Joe dedicated his life to helping people in the only way he knew how, by helping them with their medicine and health care questions.
