Joseph Robert Phillips, age 74 Born in Fredericktown, KY and lived in Louisville, KY most of his life passed away Tuesday, June 29, 2021 in Naples, FL. Joe is a loving Poppa, Pepaw, Brother, Uncle, Friend and so much more to so many!! Known to his brothers and grade friends as "Bobby" he was a graduate of Our Mother of Sorrows Grade School and Manual High School. He was a highly decorated Vietnam Veteran where he served as a door gunner with the 189th Assault Helicopter Company. He was the owner/operator of Joe Phillips Electric Company and member of the Independent Electrical Contractors' Association, also a member of the Elks Lodge. He loved spending time with his family and his friends. He spent many days riding his Harley motorcycle with his buddies. The past 11 years he has traveled the United States, Canada and other parts of the world. Most of with his dear friend Deloras. One of things he was known for was eating lobsters along the East Coast. As most of you know, he was known for his practical jokes that he loved to play on people! But Most of all, he loved to make people laugh!! Joe was preceded in death by his Wife Judi Shaughnessy Phillips, Parents John Kelly Phillips and Mary Catherine Newton Phillips, his Brothers Richard and Jerry Phillips.
Joe is survived by his Daughter Stephanie Clark (Bobby) and Son Joe Phillips. His Grandson Brayden Clark. His Brothers David Phillips (Sue) and Arvie Phillips (Carol). Along with his Nieces and Nephews.
In Lieu of flowers the family would like to ask that you make a donation to the Wounded Warriors Foundation to help assist those who may be suffering from PTSD. The family would like to say…if you see a Veteran please take a moment to at least say "Thank you for your Service".

Visitation will be held from 2 to 6 pm on Saturday, July 24, 2021 followed by a celebration of Joe's life at 6pm Newcomer Cremations, Funerals and Receptions, East Louisville Chapel, 235 Juneau Drive, Louisville, KY 40243.
