Hardwood Flooring Entrepreneur has passed at the age of 75. He opened American Products of Kentucky in 1994 and worked in the hardwood flooring industry for over 25 years.
Joe loved life and he had a tremendous personality that afforded him many, many friends. He "worked a room" better than any politician.
He was born in Madison IN on August 14, 1946; shortly thereafter his parents moved to Louisville. He grew up in the Tyler Park area and was an avid tennis player and golfer. He belonged to Wildwood Country Club and Midland Trail. Joe and Mary Ann became members of Southeast Christian Church at Blankenbaker where they were baptized into their faith and active in volunteering and welcoming guests to church each Sunday.
Growing up in the Highlands he attended St. James Catholic School, Atherton and Bellarmine University.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Leo & Marjorie Nally Montgomery, and parents-in-law, John & Mildred Crawford.
He leaves to cherish his memory, the love of his life and devoted wife, Mary Ann Montgomery; daughters, Tracie Davidsaver (Dan), Amy Bergeron (Andre); brother, Bob Montgomery (Beth); sister, Anne Montgomery Baas; grandsons, Harrison & Clayton Long, Zackery Stevens; granddaughters, Nally & Madison Bergeron.
Joe's memorial visitation will be held at Newcomer Funeral Homes, East Louisville Chapel (235 Juneau Drive, Louisville, KY 40243) on Tuesday, June 21, 2022 from 4:00pm – 8:00pm, with additional visitation from 10:00am – 11:00am at Southeast Christian Church, Blankenbaker Campus (920 Blankenbaker Pkwy, Louisville, KY 40243) on Wednesday, June 22, 2022, with service to follow at 11:00am.
The family would like to thank Dr. William Haney, his faithful physician of many years, as well as the Baptist Health Louisville staff on 6E, and the palliative care unit for all their kindness, compassion, and support during Joe's final days. Your kindness will not be forgotten.
In lieu of flowers, Joe asked that donations be to Hosparus of Louisville, Saint Vincent DePaul, or to Southeast Christian Church, Blankenbaker Campus.
