Joseph Edward Leonard, Sr

Joseph Edward "Joe" Leonard Sr. passed away on March 6, 2023, in Louisville, KY at age 74. Joseph was born on September 10, 1948 in Louisville, KY. He graduated from Shawnee High School (Class of 1967), and received an Associate degree from Watterson College. Joe served in the United States Army and was stationed at Fort Knox, receiving Honorable Discharges in 1969 and 1975. He married his soulmate on November 7, 1970 and together they enjoyed 52 years of marriage. He loved fishing, basketball, listening to the blues and spending time with his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward Leonard and Dorothy Payne (Wilson) Leonard; sister, Aloma C. "Nonie" (Leonard) Lichtefeld; and brother Brian Leonard.

Joe is survived by his wife, Linda Darlene (Cain) Leonard; children, Joseph Edward Leonard Jr. and Brian Edward Leonard (Brittany); grandson, Jack; and several nieces, nephews and friends.

There will be no funeral service.

Memorial gifts may be sent to the American Diabetes Association or the American Cancer Society in Joe's memory.
