Joseph L. Neal, 81, of Underwood, passed away on Friday, July 27, 2012. He was a retired truck driver of 50 years and served in the U.S. Army.
He was born on March 28, 1931 in Norma, Tennessee to the late Benny and Narra (Williams) Neal. He is preceded in death by his brothers, Virgil, Ernie, Roy & Daniel Neal; sisters, Ethel West & Ruby Phillips; and sons, Tracy Neal & Jeffrey Neal.
Joseph is survived by his wife of 50 years, Nelda Marie (Edwards) Neal; daughter, Jennifer (Neal) Denny of Sellersburg; son, Jerry Neal (Liz); daughter, Linda of Fort Wayne; 2 grandchildren, Hannah Kelly (Sean) of New Albany & Joshua Neal (Amber) of Fort Wayne; along with several great-grandchildren; sister, Emma Coon (Roger) of Knoxville, Tennessee; niece, Velva Clear (Johnny) of Jacksboro, Tennessee; & several other nieces & nephews.
Visitation will be held from 11 AM to 1 PM on Monday, July 30, 2012 at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). A Private Funeral Service will be held at 1 PM with full military honors conducted at Mt. Tabor Cemetery immediately following.
