Joseph M Greenwell, Sr.
October 15, 1949 — June 29, 2022
Joseph M Greenwell, Sr. (born October 15, 1949) of Taylorsville passed away on June 29th surrounded by his loving family. Joe proudly served in the United States Marine Corps (1967-1973) and achieved the rank of Sergeant. A printer by trade, he owned and operated Joe Graphics, a pre-press company, from 1972-1994.
Joe is survived by his wife, Bertha, whom he married in 1969. They have two sons Joe (Alisa) and Ralph (Nevia). Joe is also survived by 11 grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Joe and Bertha moved to Spencer County in 1996. Joe loved his land and meticulously cared for the property. Joe loved his family. He was the epitome of providing, protecting, and loving those whom you are blessed to share your life with. He taught his sons and grandchildren to work hard, and to take care of those who can't take care of themselves.
Joe is preceded in death by his father, Joseph H Greenwell, his mother, Eleanor Greenwell, his brother, James "Eddie" Greenwell, and his beloved pug, Missy.
Per his request, there will not be a funeral. Newcomer funeral home will facilitate his cremation. A private celebration of life will be this Fall.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Hosparus of Louisville.
