Joseph Fada

Joseph "Joe" Fada, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend to many, passed away on September 14, 2024 at the age of 81. Born on December 21, 1942, in Mount Pleasant, Pennsylvania, Joseph lived a life rich with love and friendship.

Joe's career involved 33 years at Ford Motor Company and 15 years as a poker dealer at Horseshoe Casino, where he built lasting relationships and created a welcoming environment for all who crossed his path. Joe had a remarkable ability to make everyone feel valued; once he met you, you became a friend in his heart.

A proud Veteran of the United States Air Force, Joe carried the values of service and duty throughout his life. He cherished his family above all, with a special bond to his wife of 24 years, Candace Fada. Together, they nurtured a home filled with laughter and love. Joe is survived by his children, Valerie (Mike) Gerken, Jason (Shelly) Fada, and Rhonda Oddo, along with his step-son, Jason Lopp; and his brothers, James Fada and Robert (Patricia) Fada. His legacy extends to his grandchildren, Cooper Lopp, Trent Gerken, Alex Oddo, and Vincent Oddo, all of whom brought immense joy to his life.

An avid golfer, Joe found his second family on the fairways, where he made lifelong friends who were like brothers, sharing many unforgettable rounds and stories. His passion for gardening added yet another layer to his character; he found great joy in tending to his yard, often spending hours in the tranquility of nature.

Joe's heart was large enough to embrace everyone, and he will be deeply missed by all who had the fortune to know him. He is preceded in death by his parents, Andrew and Mary Hudak Fada, and siblings, Louise Hribal, Mary Hawkins, Andrew Fada, Dorothy Schaffer, Eileen Tylka, and John Fada.

Visitation will be from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Friday, September 20, 2024 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). Visitation will continue on Saturday, September 21, 2024 at the funeral home from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. His Funeral Service will follow at 1:00 pm on Saturday.
