Joseph E. Fleig
September 19, 1933 — April 19, 2014
Joseph "Joe" E. Fleig, 80 passed away on Saturday, April 19, 2014. He was an Army veteran and retired from G.E. Joe enjoyed feeding the birds, gardening and loved spending time with his family.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Lillian Fleig; brother, Bill Fleig; sisters, Mary Urich and Joann Senn and grandson, Timothy Alan Boyd.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, LaPhena Ruth Johnson Fleig; children, Mary (Tommy) West, Rebecca (Dennis) Boyd, Benida (James) Crask and Joseph A. (Angie) Fleig; 13 grandchildren; one grandson-in-law; one great-grandchild and two on the way; brother, Bob and sisters, Shirley and Clara.
Visitation will be Tuesday, April 22, 2014 from 1pm-8pm at Newcomer Funeral Home Southwest Louisville Chapel (10304 Dixie Highway). Funeral services will be Wednesday, April 23, 2014, beginning at 12pm at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church.
Interment will be at Bethany Cemetery, 10915 Dixie Highway, Louisville, KY 40272.
