Joseph Dannenfelser

Joseph Dannenfelser, 77, of Borden, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, June 14, 2023. Joe was a people person with a generous heart. He enjoyed helping others and using his many skills to fix things for his neighbors, family, and friends. Joe worked for International Harvester for several years and retired from General Electric. He had a wonderful sense of humor and loved to make others smile and laugh. He was also a car enthusiast, who cherished his classic cars, especially his Mercury. Joe will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

He was born on July 25, 1945, in New Albany, Indiana, to Sanz Isler and Alma (Rough) Dannenfelser. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, Roger Dannenfelser and Thomas Isler; and his forever friend, Mercury.

Joe is survived by his loving wife, Gloria Dannenfelser; daughters, Amy Dannenfelser, Nicole Carver, and Ashley Rice; brother, Sandy (Phyllis) Dannenfelser; sister-in-law, Lola Dannenfelser; grandchildren, Kaelyn Dannenfelser and Kiah Hasel; and many other family and friends.

Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, June 19, 2023, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). Visitation will continue at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home, followed by his Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m. with burial afterward at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park in New Albany, Indiana.

The family requests that contributions in Joe's memory be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105).
