Johnny Stone Downs, 85, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Sunday, May 15, 2022.

He was born on December 14, 1936 in Louisville, Kentucky to Oliver and Bessie Ballard.
Johnny was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force. He retired from Ford Production Plant off Fern Valley Road after working for 22 years. Johnny was proud to be a recovering alcoholic, and being sober for over 30 years. He was a great bowler and bowled with the pros, Johnny also competed in archery competitions.

He is preceded in death by father, Oliver Downs; mother, Bessie Ballard; and brother, Bobby Downs.

Johnny is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Porfiria Downs; son, Christopher W Downs (Caitlin); daughter, Bessie Downs; grandchildren, Anthony Clyde Moore, Lincoln and Logan Downs; and sisters, Bettye Albritton and Doris Finley.

Visitation will be from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm on Sunday, May 22, 2022 at Newcomer Cremation, Funerals & Receptions-East Louisville Chapel, (235 Juneau Dr.). His Funeral Service will be at 5:00 pm on Sunday, at the funeral home. Mr. Downs will be laid to rest on Wednesday, June 1st at 1:30 pm at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central in Radcliff, KY with military honors.
