Johnnie Lee Malone

Johnnie Lee Malone, 93, of Jeffersonville, Indiana, passed away on Monday, June 26, 2023. Johnnie was an outspoken woman with a generous heart. Although she endured many hardships throughout her life, she had a great sense of humor with a laugh to match. She always let people know what was on her mind. Above all, Johnnie was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, who loved spending time with her family.

She was born on February 3, 1930, in Clayton, Alabama, to John and Rose (DeLoach) McKinnon. She accepted Christ at an early age and was a current member of Shiloh Baptist Church at her passing. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Norman Malone, who died exactly 50 years to the day before her in 1973; and her brother, James S. DeLoach.

Johnnie is survived by her daughters, Terrie (George) Tolliver and Patricia Malone; son, Roger (Terry) Malone; grandchildren, Isaiah Tolliver, Daniel Tolliver, Tyra Malone, Ronisha Malone, and Jermaine Crenshaw; great-granddaughter, Danielle Tolliver; sister, Beatrice Pickens; nieces, Irma Rose and Johnetta; nephew, James A. DeLoach; and many other extended family and friends.

Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Monday, July 3, 2023, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). Her Funeral Service will be at 1:00 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home with burial to follow at Walnut Ridge Cemetery in Jeffersonville, Indiana.
