John Dennis Wantland, 78, of Fisherville, Kentucky, passed away on Tuesday, September 13, 2022.
He was born on September 13, 1944 in Louisville, Kentucky to the late Hugh and Ophelia (Stickler) Wantland. He is also preceded in death by his brother Hugh "Bud" Wantland Jr.
John worked as the head meat cutter at Kroger for 35 plus years.
John is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Cheryl Jean Wantland, son Christopher Wantland, daughters, Janet Alvey (Chris), Melissa Hendrix, son, Lenny Hendrix (Hohete), siblings Cyril Wantland (Bonnie), Joseph Wantland (Kathy), Bruce Wantland (Carmella), Suzzie Spencer, grandchildren Kayla, Ryan, Jessie, Dillon, Sydney, Zoe, Chloe and Aiden. He is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews.
A gathering will be held on Saturday, September 24, 2022 from 10:00 am until 1:00 pm at Newcomer Cremation, Funerals & Receptions East Chapel (235 Juneau Drive Louisville, KY 402423).
