John Nelson Voyles, Sr.

John Nelson Voyles, Sr., 85, of Greenville, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, July 30, 2020. John was an active member of the Hour of Power Church in New Albany. He was an avid golfer, and loved fishing and playing his guitars. Early in his life he was a Grand Master Mason at the Georgetown Masonic Lodge #480.

He was born on May 5, 1935, in Palmyra, Indiana, to the late Homer and Eleanor (Heuser) Voyles. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his 5 brothers.

John is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Barbara Voyles; sons, John (Vicky) Voyles, Jr., Stuart (Nonie) Voyles, and Nelson (Lisa) Voyles; grandchildren, Meagan (Joe) LeMay, Tate (Kristi) Anderson, Derrick (Jessi) Anderson, Sonnie (Blake) Anderson-Duncan, Chance Voyles, and Clayton Voyles.

Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, August 6, 2020, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane). His Funeral Service will be at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home with burial to follow at Galena Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in John's memory can be made to Hour of Power Church (116 W Main St, New Albany, IN 47150).
