John Tharp

John Tharp, 77, of Sellersburg, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, August 23, 2022. John was a proud veteran of the United States Army. He worked in maintenance at Clark Memorial Hospital for over 27 years until his retirement. He was an avid fisherman and loved to swim. Above everything else, John's greatest love of all was his family, especially his grandchildren.

He was born on August 21, 1945, in Jeffersonville, Indiana, to the late John and Anna (Allen) Tharp. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his grandson, Levi Jennings; his brothers-in-law, Frank Jackson and Boge Haworth; and sister-in-law, Sheila Tharp.

John is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Marsha Tharp; daughter, Andrea (Toby) Jennings; son, Aaron Bradshaw; daughter, Stacy Hilbert; sons, Chad, Eric, and Arron Tharp; sister, Betty Jackson; brother, Keith Tharp; grandchildren, Tyler Jennings, Jackson Jennings, Bristol Bradshaw, and Camden Bradshaw.

Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, August 29, 2022, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). His Funeral Service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home with burial to follow at Sellersburg Cemetery.
