John Samuel Stirling, 98, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Thursday, April 1, 2021.
He was born on July 30, 1922 in New Brighton, Pennsylvania to John and Thelma (Price) Stirling. He honorably served in the US Navy during WWII. He worked for Donaldson Bakery and Prudential Insurance. He enjoyed his condo in Ft. Walton Beach, FL. He loved roller skating and dancing until his mid eighties. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
He is preceded in death by his parents; 1st wife, Margaret Mary Stirling; 2nd wife, Frances Stirling; daughter, Maureen Stirling; grandson, Scott Stirling; sisters, Dorothy Anderson & Jane Johnson
John is survived by his son, John Patrick (Marian) Stirling; son, James Thomas (Stacey) Stirling; daughter, Peggy Lee (Sam) McClurkin; daughter, Christine Ann (Terry) Raymond; daughter, Elizabeth Stirling (George) Hughes; 6 grandchildren, Shari (William) Wells, Jamie Stirling, John (Jenny) Stirling, Craig McClurkin, Megan (Jeremy) Harvey, Natalie Neal; 6 great grandchildren, Grace Blust, Cortney Wells, Ryan Stirling, Stirling McClurkin, Madison Harvey, Jaxson Harvey, 3 step-children, John (Aline) Meiman, Gloria (Mike), Mary (Larry) Barnes; sister, Linda Gordon; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
Visitation will be from 9:00 am to 11:00 am with a Funeral Ceremony at 11:00 am on Wednesday, April 7, 2021 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel, (10304 Dixie Hwy). Burial with military honors to follow at St. Andrew Cemetery in Louisville, Kentucky.
