John William Stiner, 92, of New Albany, Indiana, died Wednesday, July 20, 2022, at Hampton Oaks Health Center in Scottsburg, Indiana. He was born, September 12, 1929, to the late Edith (Kannapel) Stiner and Otto Stiner of New Middletown, Indiana.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Francis Stiner; and a sister, Catherine, all of New Middletown, Indiana; and a son, James Nale of Salem, Indiana.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Doris (Porter) Stiner; sons, William Edward (Michelle) Stiner of Little York, Indiana, and Charles (Jackie) Nale of Bedford, Kentucky; daughter, Debra (James) Strunk of Sellersburg, Indiana; daughter-in-law, Karen (Martin) Nale of Salem; 8 grandchildren, Desiree (Jory) Tudder, Angie Willard, Michael Strunk, David (Heather) Nale, Missy (David) Williams, Alexandria (Zac) Clifton, Samantha (Zac) Wood, and Cody (Journey) Thompson; 6 great-grandchildren, Abby Snyder, Cory Smith, Gavin and Ian Tudder, Maddie Williams, and Lincoln who is "one on the way!"; brothers, George (Mary Lois) Stiner of Corydon, Indiana, and Merlin Stiner of New Middletown, Indiana; sister, Mary Waynescott of New Middletown, Indiana; and several nieces and nephews.
He was a Korean War veteran, who served in the United States Army. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in New Albany. He worked for Bruce Fox Company in New Albany for over 36 years.
Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, July 25, 2022, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). His Funeral Service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church with burial to follow at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park.
