John Oliver Scott, 80, passed away on Thursday, May 3, 2018, at his home.
He was born in Braddock Borough of Pittsburgh, attended Sinclair Community College , Dayton OH, was the retired owner of ComputerWare and former co-owner of Watjen Radio & TV, and a past member of the KY IN PC Users Group. John was a problem solver, a quiet compassionate man and a very courageous individual. He was an avid gardener growing vegetables, flowers and loved to travel.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clark MacQuown Scott Sr. and Louise Caroline Croft Scott, his brother Clark MacQuown Scott Jr. and sister Caroline Louise Scott
Survivors include his wife, Ellen Ann Christian of Louisville; children, John Oliver Scott Jr. and his wife Carolyn, James Michael Scott and his wife Tricia, William David Scott and his wife Pamela, and Carolyn Louise Scott, former wife Patricia Joynt Scott; grandchildren Joshua Aaron and Emily Nicole all of Louisville, Ky; nieces and nephews: Denise Cross and her husband, Clint, of Clarksville, and Diane Helms and her husband Michael, of Clarksville; Clark MacQuown Scott III and his wife Kelly Scott of Prospect, Scott Hood, Janet Marshall and her husband Sam of Columbus.
He is also survived by his grand nieces and nephews, Bretton Jones, Dayla Helms, Julien Helms, Cory Cross, Cara Cross, Wyatt Scott, Ethan Scott, May Scott, Quinn Scott and Carson Marshall.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 12, 2018 at Cave Hill Cemetery (701 Baxter Avenue Louisville, KY 40204) in the East Section 37. Arrangements are entrusted to Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (235 Juneau Drive Louisville, KY 40243).
