John Robert Spengler

November 21, 1945 — August 7, 2012

John R. Spengler, 66, of Floyds Knobs, Indiana passed away on August 7, 2012 at his home. He retired from the New Albany Floyd County School System and was a member at New Beginnings Community Church in New Albany. John enjoyed music, especially jazz and classical.

John was born on November 21, 1945 in Huntingburg, Indiana to the late Edward A. and Mary A. (Adler) Spengler. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Norma Sakel. He is survived by his children, Matthew and Sarah Spengler; brother, William "Bill" Spengler (Billie); and grandson, Jon Michael Spengler.

Visitation will be 12 to 6 PM on Sunday, August 12, 2012 at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). His Funeral Service will be at 11 AM on Monday at New Beginnings Community Church (104 Wooded Valley Drive, New Albany) with burial to follow at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park in New Albany.
