John William Mills was born September 30, 1943 to Abram and Emma Mills. He was the second child of 14 children.
John was a Vietnam Veteran that served his country proudly. He received the Vietnam Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal, and the Vietnam Campaign Medal.John had a very loving heart. Yes, he was opinionated and blunt, but he just believed that everyone should work hard for what they wanted, and he taught that to his siblings and children. He was also a great provider and protector of those he loved. He would give you the shirt off his back. ( You might hear a few explicatives, but nevertheless, you would have what you needed).
Oh, how John loved being a truck driver. He joined the Teamsters Union Local 89 in November of 1966 and served proudly for 55 years.
John loved to cook, (he thought he was the best cook in the world), make big barrel bbq grills, woodworking, and he was an avid coin collector. He was also a talented handyman that could fix anything put in front of him.
On January 2, 2023, John joined his parents Abram and Emma, his loving wife Mildred, his beloved sister Joann, his brother James and his loving son Keith in heaven. He leaves to cherish his memory 5 sisters, Emma Cooper (Johnny), Betty Mills, Barbara Steadman (Cordie), Christine Bruce (Thomas), and Doris Henderson.
