John Michael Meyer, 67, entered into rest Friday, September 19, 2014 at Hosparus, Louisville. He was born in Newark, N.J. on June 9, 1947 to Charles Warren Meyer and Shirley Jane Shaw Meyer (Louisville Natives).
John's work career was primarily as a certified auto technician, specializing in imports; he was last employed by Tafel Motors before his disability retirement. He'd also been a motorcycle enthusiast and was known for his ability to tune engines for peak performance.
John and his wife met through a mutual love of photography, John preferring the technical aspects and lab work; they operated a modest photography business for a time, providing custom b&w and color handmade prints from their home based lab.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and several Aunts and Uncles. John is survived by his wife Joyce Karen (Stroedecke) Meyer and their only son Jesse John Meyer.
In lieu of flowers we suggest alternate expressions of sympathy be as a memorial donation to Hosparus of Louisville or The American Cancer Society.
