John Goodin

John Goodin, 63, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Saturday, April 1, 2023. John loved Thoroughbreds and betting the ponies. He was a Captain on the river and had a true passion for the water. He proudly served his country in the US Navy. John was loyal and dedicated to his career, friends, and his family. Most importantly, he was a loving and devoted husband and Papaw. John will be deeply missed by all who had the honor of knowing him.

He was born on October 12, 1959 in Louisville, Kentucky to Delmar and Francis Goodin. He is preceded in death by his father, Delmar Goodin; and mother, Francis Goodin.

John is survived by his loving wife of 24 years, Joan Goodin; sisters, Margaret (Billy) Gibson, Ann (Bill) Harris, Jane Lawless; grandchildren, Theo Fluhr, Flora Fluhr; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends to cherish his loving memory forever.

Visitation will be on Monday, April 17, 2023 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel, 10304 Dixie Highway. A Celebration of life will be at 6:00 p.m. at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel.

The family requests that contributions in John's memory be made to Wounded Warriors.
