John M. Flora, Jr.

John M. Flora, Jr., 87, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, October 4, 2023. John was a proud member of Cornerstone First Church in Jeffersonville, Indiana where he devoted his faith to God. He enjoyed being around his family and a big part of his great grandsons life with sports, fishing, and other events they were involved in. John also enjoyed traveling to Florida, working, going to church, and construction.

He was born on November 28, 1935, in New Albany, Indiana, to John and Hazel (Steele) Flora. He is preceded in death by his wife Marlene Flora; parents; grandson, Matthew Brewer; two sisters, Janet Roberts and Mary Eiler; one brother, Richard Flora.

John is survived by his loving children, Judy (David) Brewer, Carol (Terry) Ginkins, Joyce Flora, John Flora, III, and Scott (Michelle) Flora; grandchildren, Jason (Teresa), Whitney, Cody (Michelle), Carey, Megan, Brad (Michelle), Josh (Jacque), and Dallas; fourteen great grandchildren; and two brothers, Carl Flora and William Flora.

Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 12, 2023, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, (3309 Ballard Lane) and Friday, October 13, 2023 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. His Funeral Service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions with burial to follow at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park in New Albany, Indiana.

The family requests that contributions in John's memory be made to Cornerstone First Church.
