John Marc Elbert, 64, of Clarksville, Indiana passed away on Tuesday, November 27, 2012 at his home with his loving family by his side.
Marc was born on January 24, 1948 to the late Sidney M. & Juel G. (Rice) Elbert in New Albany, Indiana. He was a proud veteran that served in the United States Air Force. Marc loved his family and especially enjoyed fishing with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Sharon Marlene (Richards) Elbert; 6 children, John Elbert (Amanda), Darlene Turner, Mary Jean Elbert, Loretta Jane Jaramillo(Carlos), Christopher Scott Elbert(Nikki), & Kevin Elbert (Carrie); 2 sisters, Judy Tompkins (Larry) & Angela Nelson (James); 12 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren. Along with his parents, Marc was preceded in death by his brother, Charles Elbert and his sister, Barbara Lester.
Visitation will be from 3 to 8 PM Friday, November 30, 2012 at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Ln., New Albany). His Funeral Service will be held Saturday at 12 PM at the funeral home with full military honors being performed at the cemetery.
Contributions in his memory may be made to Hosparus – Hospice of Southern Indiana (624 E Market St, New Albany, IN 47150.
