John Earl Dukes

July 30, 1969 — October 12, 2022

John Earl Dukes, 53, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Wednesday, October 12, 2022.

He was born on July 30, 1969 in Louisville , Kentucky to John and Josie (Gipson) Dukes. He is preceded in death by his wife, Lisa M. Dukes and brother, Anthony Watkins, father in-law, Nathaniel McKenzie, and his brother in-law, Nathaniel McKenzie Jr.

Brother John Dukes dedicated his life to Jehovah on June 20, 2010. John belonged to the Parkland Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses and later joined his loving spiritual brothers and sisters at J-Town Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. He enjoyed talking to anyone he could about Jehovah God and encouraged all whom he loved to get to know God on a personal level. He often spoke about waiting for the day when he could rejoice in seeing his beautiful wife Lisa and all his spiritual brothers, friends, and family that we've lost being resurrected in Jehovah's New World.

John was a family man, he enjoyed spending time with those he loved. He loved to BBQ and invite people over to spend time at his home. John loved keeping a good music collection and of course his Dallas Cowboys! Brother Dukes could never resist putting on a nice suit and smelling his best when it was time to go out in his ministry. We certainly look forward to the hour that the bible speaks of in John 5: 28,29 when all those who have fallen asleep in death will come to life again after hearing Jesus' voice, to live life in a better world. We look forward to the hour when we can see and hear the voice of our dear brother John Dukes once more!

John is survived by his loving parents Josie Dukes, John Dukes, daughters, Asia (Eric Philpot) McKenzie, Ashley McKenzie, grandchildren, Elijah and Elisia Philpot, siblings, Christopher Dukes and Carolyn Watkins, and his mother in-law, Virginia McKenzie, along with a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, loving family and friends.

Visitation will be from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Saturday, October 22, 2022 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel, (10304 Dixie Hwy). His Funeral Service will be at 1:00 pm on Saturday, at the funeral home.
