John David Clausen

John D. Clausen, 65, of Sellersburg, Indiana passed away on October 12, 2014. John was born on May 16, 1949 in Louisville, Kentucky to the late John and Muriel Clausen.

Along with his parents he is preceded in death by his son; John Robert Clausen, sister; Barbara Mattingly (Tom), brother in law; Charley Hagan and grandson; Patrick Pollock.


After 38 years of perfect attendance working at Nuplex Resins he retired in 2014. John had many hobbies and interests ranging from coaching his grandson in little league, gambling at the boat, watching his WWE wrestling, watching anything related to U of L, he also loved to listen for the train to come through at night, and most of all he loved his family and dogs.

John is survived by his spouse of 25 years; Mary Ellen (Bruce) Clausen; children; Dana Mack, Kim Neff, Beth Powell, Roy Alford, grandchildren; Charles Alford, Brandie Barksdale, Ashley Alford, Brian Pollock, Tiffany Akers, Robbie Vandeventer, Tasha Vandeventer, Anthony Alford, Chris Thompson; eight great grandchildren and one sister; Ruth Ann Clausen Hagan.


Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm Thursday, October 16, 2014 at Newcomer Funeral Home (235 Juneau Drive, Louisville, Kentucky).

His funeral ceremony will be held Friday at 11:00 am at Newcomer Funeral Home - East Louisville with burial to follow at Valley of Rest Cemetery.
