John William Cosper, Sr.

John William Cosper, Sr., 75, of Jeffersonville, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, March 7, 2021. He retired after a career as a Civil Engineer, with his primary focus being in airport design. John liked to travel, and especially enjoyed going on cruises and visiting Walt Disney World. He deeply loved his family and was a member of Southeast Christian Church, Jeffersonville Campus.

He was born on February 28, 1946 in Miami, Florida to Thomas and Jeanette (Hartness) Cosper. In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his siblings, Jean Martin, Thomas and James Cosper.

John is survived by his wife of 47 years, Carol (Cooley) Cosper; children, John Cosper, Jr. (Jessica), Dawn Adams (Mark), Michael Cosper (Sarah); brother, David Cosper; brother-in-law, Hubert Martin; sister-in-law, Marilyn Cosper; grandchildren, Mark II, Alexander (Natalie), Riley, Katherine, Isabelle Adams, Lydia, Samuel, Dorothy, Margaret Cosper; great-grandson, Bentley Adams; and many nieces and nephews.

John's wish was to be cremated and Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) was entrusted with his care. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 11, 2021 at Sojourn Community Church (2023 Ekin Avenue, New Albany) with a memorial service taking place at 12:00 p.m.
