John Larry Coombs, 78, of Clarksville, Indiana, passed away on Monday, August 29, 2022. John was best known to his many friends and family members by his lifelong nickname, "Tinker."
He was born on July 22, 1944, to the late Elmer L. Coombs and Julia (Nance) Keith. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his sisters, Irma Gale Ward and Patty Ann Renfro; and brothers, Robert V. Coombs and Gordon Coombs.
Tinker is survived by his brothers, Leland "Pepper" (Pam) Coombs and Bernard "Beanie" (Billie Jo) Coombs; sister, Karen Jill Ferry; sons, Jeffery Coombs, Larry Ray Coombs, and John Christopher Coombs; daughter, Barbara Ann Coombs; several grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Cremation was chosen following John's wishes, and no services will be held at this time. Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany, Indiana) was entrusted with his care.
