John Patrick "Pat" Conley, Jr.

John Patrick "Pat" Conley, Jr., age 79 of Louisville, Kentucky passed away on Sunday, July 28, 2024.  He was born on January 28, 1945 in McKeesport, PA to the late John Patrick Conley, Sr. and Violet McGrew Conley.  Pat was a born coach.  Pat attended Purdue University to further his education where he earned a Bachelor Degree and where he played football.  He played in the 1967 Rose Bowl while at Purdue.  It was at Purdue he met the love of his life, Betty.  His whole family has been Boilermaker Fans since.  

Pat loved coaching football, baseball and basketball, and wanted to help everyone be the best they could be.  He was a good Christian man who attended Bible studies and loved reading Bible verses at home.  Pat loved being with family and friends.  He especially loved the holidays when everyone was around.  He was and is our hero.  

In addition to his parents, Pat was preceded in death by his step-father, Del; daughter-in-law, Jill; and his sister, Carol.

Pat was a loving husband to Betty for 56 years.  He was the beloved father of Patrick (Beth), Lisa, Bart (Heather), Craig (Tracey) and Keith; he was a devoted grandfather of Corey (Sierra), Bradley, Skye, Ruthie, Landey, Bayley, Jacob, Brady, Kennedy, Madi; many nieces, nephews; and dear, dear friends.

Visitation will be from 9am to 11am Friday, August 2, 2024 at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, 212 Mt Mercy Drive, Pewee Valley, KY 40056.  A Mass of Celebration will be held at the church at 11am with burial to follow at Louisville Memorial Gardens East.  

Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
