John A. Ang, 98, of New Albany passed away on Wednesday, November 2, 2011. John retired with Mosier Leather Company after 42 years. He was a member of Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church. He was a past member of the Redmen Society #276 Manzanata. John was an avid fisherman,
Euchre player and loved to travel. The Great Smoky Mountains were a favorite destination.
John was born on September 23, 1913 in Floyd County to the late Frank and Lila (Gardner) Ang. He is also preceded in death by his wife, Agnes (Stinson) Lytle Ang; stepdaughter, Suzanne (Lytle) Howard; sisters, Ethel Martin, Thelma Myers, and Bessie Lesch; and brothers, William, Clinton, and Charles Ang. He is survived by two nieces, Carolyn (Ang) Wells, of New Albany and Pat (Ang) Bierly, of Louisville as well as his stepgrandsons, Lee Howard and Chris Howard, both of Indianapolis.
Cremation was chosen according to Mr. Ang's wishes. A private graveside memorial was held. Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) is in charge of the arrangements.
