John Alton Mitchell, Sr.
December 18, 1933 — July 10, 2014
John Alton Mitchell, Sr., 80, passed away on July 10, 2014. He was a long time member of Parkwood Methodist Church and he worked at Reynolds Metals for over 43 years. He enjoyed traveling and family time.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Willis and Nanny Mitchell; brothers, Willis Green, Charles Thomas and James Lynwood Mitchell.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Anna Chesser Mitchell; daughter, Teresa Baldwin and son, John Alton Mitchell, Jr.; sister, Rebecca Tanner; nieces, Patricia Myers and Tamera Slugantz and great-nieces, Danielle and Laura.
Visitation for John will be Tuesday, July 15, 2014, from 3pm-8pm at Newcomer Funeral Home Southwest Louisville Chapel (10304 Dixie Highway) and Wednesday, from 10am-12pm. Funeral Services will be at 12:00pm at Newcomer Funeral Home.
Burial will be at Bethany Cemetery.
